Videogame Workshop is an independent videogame development studio based in Minnesota. We create small experimental games and share our thoughts and processes as we develop. Let’s make something!

Dennis Ramirez An award winning game designer who has spent the past 16 years designing, studying, and assessing videogames, Dennis believes every game is a turn based game if you slow it down enough.

Dennis served as Game Director on Skillsville and Hero Elementary, two original PBS/TPT properties. His expertise at the intersection of research, design, and implementation allow him to conduct and oversee innovative projects involving videogames, while being actively involved with each step of the design and research processes.

Charlie Mackin An award winning game designer with over 6 years experience developing games for all ages, Charlie believes that all games are teaching something, and all games need a grid.

Charlie was the lead designer on Skillsville and Hero Elementary games, original IPs developed with TPT and PBS. Charlie also designed the board game Décorum and its daily puzzle app, later releasing an expansion and presenting a well-received GDC talk on puzzle design.
